Bella Italia - parte 2

As I promised, I`ll continue my post about Italy. So, we sat in the bus about 2 p.m. and continued our trip to camp Linda where the convention of the youth of Red Cross was held. After short staying in that camp we visited The Red Cross museum. Museum wasn`t so interesting. After a visit to a museum we went to the place of Solferino where was the idea of founding Red Cross Organisation born. We stayed in Solferino for couple of hours and during that time they gave us torches for procession of torches. Procession began at 8 p.m. and lasted until midnight. We walked about 16 km. It wasn`t so difficult as I thought it`ll be. That torch proceesion will stay in my mind as really nice and vivid experience. Thousands of young people walking in long procession carrying their torches in the night. It maybe sounds a bit stupid, but it`s really something to see. I can`t describe it now to you. You should been there and experience it, so you can imagine yourself that. We sang all the time and at the end of our «voyage» we started to compete with Italians in singing as loud as we could. During that procession I was accused for taking some alcholic drinks before it, because I was one of the louder in my group. When we finnaly entered in our camp, Italians prepared for us magnificient firework and then great party. They really know how to organize some event. My legs hurt me so badly, that I thought I won`t be moving for couple of days, but all that pain had magically dissapeared as soon as we get at the party. All night we danced some kinds of group dances on the songs I didn`t expect it`ll be played. E.g. they played Macarena, YMCA, A sereje and everyone where like in some kind of a deliry. Party lasted until 4 a.m., and I danced all the time. Now I wonder did someone really put me anything in food/drink, because it`s so not me.
Next morning we went to Gardaland. As soon as we got there we started to explore. Generally, Gardaland is divided on many theme units, so you have Cowboy city, Fantasy city, Water world, Jungle world, etc. I tried 90% of the atractions. If you ever go there you must take a ride on Blu Tornado and all kinds of rollercoasters and similair thing that makes your adrenalin goes high. It`s too good, to be true.
About 7 p.m. we headed for Croatia and we arrived home about 7 a.m. Italy is wonderful country and next year I`m coming back. But, next time my friends are going with me so we can show Italinas who is singing better.

Bella Italia - parte 1

Last weekend I was on a trip to Verona, Italy and it was great, interesting, beautiful, but short. We passed Italian border on Saturday morning and we were in Verona on Saturday about 11 o`clock. The town of Verona is beautiful. It doesn`t seem like a big city, but it`s very pitoresque. All those old buildings and streets covered with stones like in Dalmacija, Croatia amazed me. We stayed in Verona only for a few hours, but it was enough to fascinate me and my friend. Town as a town isn`t cheap, as a matter of fact it`s very expensive and a people who have big shopping possibility are living there. We found only 3 or 4 shops which have normal prices. Half of the stores are world famous brands like Gucci, Max Mara, Furla, Lacoste, Bvlgari, Cartier, etc. We had there window shopping only. After shopping we went to market of Verona. You can find there a lot of things, but majority of that things are all kinds of souvenirs with a name Verona or Romeo& Juliet on it.
As we all know, Shakespeare`s most famouse play, Romeo preslatkih dečki, od kojih je većina nažalost ispod metar 75 (za mene prenisko), a svi se oblače kao metroseksualci. Svi, ali baš svi Talijani nose uske majice, hlače, imaju uređenu frizuru, fancy naočale (vidjeli & Juliet happened there, so we visited a statue and a balcony of Juliet. There were so many people. It`s a spreaded belief that who ever touch Juliete`s breast, will be happy in love. Of course, I wouldn`t be me, if I didn`t try that, and I`m still waiting for some results. The weirdest thing was, when an old grandpa came there and when he touched Juliete`s breats he had so lusty smile. When friend of mine and I saw that we were like OMG! I couldn`t believe that people like that exists. I was fascinated with a hall, just before Juliete`s statue. Both walls were covered with love notes and chewing gums on which were some names. After Juliete we went on an original Italian ice-cream and as you can guess it was very, very tasty. As we were walking through the streets, we noticed so many cute Italian guys. Italy is country of the cutest guys, but unfortunately big majority is smaller than me and they are dressing like metrosexuals. All Italian guys are wearing thight T-shirts, pants, had hair-style like they just left a hair-dresser, fancy sunglasses and a girl next to them. I was in deppresion for a while, but after ice-cream, it all passed. I want an Italian boyfriend! Except of being a land of a beautiful people, Italy is also a land of a cars. I haven`t seen a car that isn`t big or expensive or both. While we were walking towards our bus, few African-Italian tried to sold us some braceletts and stuff on Croatian! We couldn`t believe when we heard them speaking on Croatian. Of course, they didn` t speak Croatian, they`ve only said: «Buy, buy, it`s cheap!», or something like that, but it was funny to hear them speaking. About 2 p.m. we continued our trip to a camp were we should stayed, and what happened after, read in next post.
